Attitudes.
Attitudes are collections of values and
beliefs relating to a subject. They can be complex with exceptions and
rules...it's always right to do this, except when... For example,
relationships are loaded with exceptions and rules, and they change!
What's your attitude about football? Love it? But you probably know
someone who thinks it's the stupidest thing they've ever seen. Work? Now
you probably have a mixed attitude about work, don't you? You may love
your work but have a conflict with family. Religion? Money?
Let's do an Attitudes
Grid.

An Attitudes Grid is an interaction between
your values and beliefs. There are three grids on the page.
The first Subject is "making a lot of
money." Graph where that falls for you. Unimportant? Important? Are you
certain about your answer? Or less certain about it? Just put a dot on the
grid where that would fall on the graph.
The second Subject is "spending time with my
family." Graph where that falls for you. Again, unimportant? Important?
Are you certain, or less certain about it? Place your dot!
And finally, you create the third Subject
that has something to do with your work.
Is it possible that you could have place the
dots in basically the same position on each grid? Of course it is. And it
is possible this person is very conflicted. These are conflicting values
and beliefs and they can be corrected.
Remember, each person's Model of the World is made up
of five components:

it further? I'm available to discuss your questions about values via
